New Single-Family Residence

Design

CASA BÚHO is a new 4,500sf single-family residence in Stowe, VT. The 5-acre site inspired the building placement. The house will be located on the highest point of the site, near a huge boulder that becomes the kitchen & dining area backdrop. The design is focused on three main volumes intertwined with smaller volumes that create transitional spaces in the residential program. In the east wing, the bedrooms face north into the woods, maintaining the corridors on the south side. In the center, the family room, kitchen, and dining room share a large open plan with glass doors on the north and south side of the space. The garage sits in the west wing, becoming one of the main volumes.
